How to Play Texas Holdem Poker

Pocket Aces One of the worlds most popular poker games in Texas Hold'em Poker. Virtually every online poker room will offer this game because of its huge demand.

Here are the three different betting versions of Texas Hold'em.

  • Limit - The table has a maximum bet each turn, i.e. $0.50/$1.00.
  • Pot Limit - Players can bet as much as is in the pot at the time of their turn.
  • No Limit - Players can bet as much money as they have at the table at the time of the hand.

How to play Texas Hold'em Poker:

  • The 2 players to the left of the dealer must post the small blind and large blind. (A blind is when you must put into the pot before looking at your cards.)

  • When the blind bets are complete, the dealer will give each player 2 cards face down.

  • Then there is a round of betting.

  • Once bets are completed the dealer will deal 3 cards face up (the 'flop'). These cards are 'shared' by all players at the table.

  • Then there is another round of betting.

  • Then a fourth card is dealt face up in the middle. (the 'turn')

  • Then there is another round of betting.

  • After the bets a fifth card is placed face up on the table. (the 'river')

  • Then there is the final round of betting.

  • Players show their hands, and the one with the highest hand wins the pot.
